Arusha Accomodations

Staying at a mid-range hotel in Arusha –

yes, this is my room and it is indeed in the city.

Two different hotels I’ve stayed at in the area and both of them have packs of dogs in the area who bark all night long. And they get crazy – wouldn’t want to encounter them on the street. They would probably rip my face off.  I think they are neighbors’ “pets”, but they are kept in groups and their barking is incessant and loud. Ah, first world problems…..

  1. Congratulations John. It’s a great accomplishment and I must ask, how was that first shower after you got down? Sweet I’m sure.

    1. Boy oh boy was it a simple, yet incredible pleasure. I can’t imagine what 20 days in the Himalayas would have done for an enjoyable post-trek shower.

  2. We are enjoying living your trip vicariously – written with insight and humor – this will be a lasting and life changing experience, John. Your photos are sharp and clear and the Nikon camera is terrific..what a good choice! We are excited to read your next entries and follow your progress on your adventure – safe travels to you.
    Much love, Mom and Dad
